Teachable

 

One lesson that I seem to be constantly learning; Things just aren’t always as they seem. Places, things, people, relationships, friends, objects in mirrors, and even ourselves. Sometimes disheartening, sometimes  unbelievably amazing, but often a facade of what we thought they were. A wise loved one once said a statement to me that has always resonated, “oh the stories we tell ourselves, convincing our minds of what really isn’t.” Maybe calling it a box, just because it looks like a box, isn’t always the best thing to do, but how I wish I always knew for sure what was standing in front of me.
